Japanese honeysuckle is semi-evergreen in New England (remaining green at least at the start of the winter). Together with Oriental bittersweet, whose abundant red fruit are seen in the background, it makes a big mess at the border of the Ponkapoag Golf Course, on the edge of the Blue Hills Reservation.
